Instructional Design – Week 4

The basis of Instructional Design is the “how to” of an interactive design.

  • Visual Instruction (leaflets): generally language free which allow for the same instructions to be used internationally
  • You must be considerate of language barriers
  • Videos may not be the best for instructions as everything is important and will be too much information for the audience to hold onto

Kinds of interaction:

  • Instruction: clicking buttons
  • Conversation: back and forth dialog
  • Manipulation: drag and drop elements
  • Exploration: open ended, playful, game like
